Lawn Funeral
Home is a full service funeral home, helping families
arrange for a full funeral service with a one or two
day visitation, funeral ceremony and burial at a cemetery.
To the simplest funeral such as Direct Cremation with
is no visitation. All arrangements are done according
to the family wishes.
Lawn Funeral Home was established in 1962. Founding
owner Donald Jarka Sr. opened the first funeral home
at the present location at 7909 State Rd. In 1987 a
new location at 7732 W. 159th Street was started. Lawn
Funeral Home is still owned and operated by the Jarka
Family.
When death occurs, the funeral home should be contacted
so that they can take the next step which is usually
picking up the deceased from the place of death and
bringing the deceased back to the funeral home. The
funeral home at that time will do whatever the family
wishes are, which may or may not include preparing the
deceased for a visitation or funeral ceremony. The Funeral
Home can take care of some of the most important details
for the family such as contacting the family’s
church or minister, securing the doctors signature for
the death certificate, notifying the newspapers, cemetery,
Social Security and Veterans Department. The Funeral
Home can help the family with selections such as Casket,
Burial Vault and Flowers when needed.
If Death occurs out of state the family has to consider
where and what type of funeral services will they need.
If there is to be no visitation in the state where the
death occurred then a funeral home from the place where
the services will be held should be contacted and they
can take care of all the necessary arrangements with
a funeral home from that state. It may be easier on
the family if they only have to deal with one funeral
home and feel assured that everything is being taken
care of. If there is to be a visitation at the state
of death, then a funeral home in the death state should
be contacted and that funeral home can take care of
all the necessary arrangements with the funeral home
where the final services will take place. |
